Purpose of Job:

Reporting to the Head of Services – Canada, the purpose of this job is to manage the Sudbury Ontario Service Centre for North America.  The focus will be to generate and support business opportunities related to obtaining orders for the Outotec range of product offerings.  To manage the Sudbury field staff (unionized and non-unionized) and ensure that projects are carried out in a timely, cost-effective and professional manner.   Travel is expected to be 20-30%.

 As Manager of the Sudbury Service Centre, you will:

  • Provide overall leadership and management of the Sudbury-based offices,
  • Work with company management towards developing strategic direction of the Sudbury service offerings,
  • Profit and loss responsibility,
  • Service line promotion and development,
  • Promote and expand the network for Sudbury office services,
  • Maintain and enhance relationship with key clients,
  • Ensure the delivery of projects and services in a timely and cost effective,
  • Sales & market reporting as required,
  • Resource management and competence development,
  •  Union relations as required.

To succeed, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, engineering, science or equivalent,
  • 12-15 years in mining or mining services industry,
  • Previous P&L responsibility,
  • Proven leadership skills, including ability to successfully manage performance, empower and influence,
  • Experience leading and motivating technical teams,
  • Resourcing and competence development skills,
  • Demonstrated track record in project delivery and implementation,
  • Solid technology, process and services understanding,
  • Result-oriented mindset, drive and passion to develop and improve ways of operating,
  • Financial and business acumen,
  • Willingness and interest in working with customers,
  • Experience working with unions an asset,
  • Experience working in and with Northern Ontario customers an asset.
